Can I order spare keys for the control panel?

Yes – spare keys can be ordered from our sales department, they are supplied as a pair fitted on a ring. The part numbers are:

Keys for the cabinet door lock = KEY801
Keys for the ‘Activate Controls’ key switch = KEY107

What detectors are compatible with this control panel?

Excel-32 control panels use conventional type detection equipment. They are specifically designed for use with Apollo S65 & Orbis  or Hochiki CDX detector ranges but are compatible with many other makes. Download our compatibility list below for the full list of devices we have tested.

What size batteries do I need?

The minimum battery size required for this panel is 7Ah and the maximum internal battery capacity is 18Ah. The battery size required depends on the devices fitted to the control panel and the stand by time required. Download our battery calculator below.

Panel indicates 'Battery Fault' even though batteries are fitted correctly.

Make sure battery capacity is no less than 7Ah, if so replace with larger batteries. Also check that the correct battery size has been selected in the programming options for the integral power supply (factory setting is 18Ah). See programming option 2122 in the instruction manual or download the pdf below.

Can the panel show more detailed information when a fault indication is present?

Yes – when a fault indication is present, press and hold the ‘ENTER’ button for approx 4 seconds, the panel will go into diagnostics mode and will display more information about the present fault. Download the pdf below for the table of fault indications.

Panel shows 'General Fault' with no other indication

A fault is present on one or more repeater panels or other networked control panel on the system. Further information can be obtained by using the system diagnostics mode. See programming code 3114 in the instruction manual or download the pdf below.

How do I put the panel into test mode?

Press and hold the ‘Test Mode’ button (button 2) for approx 4 seconds, zone 1 fire LED will illuminate, use the ‘Test Mode’ button to select a zone and press ‘ENTER’ to set that zone into test mode. When all zones required are selected, press and hold the ‘Test Mode’ button for 4 seconds to exit selection menu, this will leave panel in test mode on the selected zones. To remove test modes repeat above process using the ‘ENTER’ button to remove the selected zones from test mode.

How do I set the zones to be 'Twin Wire'?

Twin Wire mode can be set for each zone individually.

Turn on Dil switches 1- 4 on the main PCB and Dil switches A – D on any extension cards. Switches 1 -4 correspond with zones 1 – 4 and switches A – D correspond with either zones 5 – 8 or 9 – 12 depending on which position they are fitted.

Panel shows 'Battery Fault' after a few weeks of installation

Check battery size is no smaller than 3.2Ah, if so replace for 3.2Ah.

How do I set the zones to be 'Twin Wire'?

Turn on Dil switch 1 on the main PCB. This will set all zones to be Twin Wire. It is not possible to select individual zones on the Eclipse panel.

Panel displays 'Battery Hi Z Fault' (high impedance fault).

Check condition and age of internal batteries, also check connections to battery terminals for loose fit, if this does not clear fault it may be necessary to replace charger module.

Panel displays 'Earth Fault'

This indicates that one of the external circuits has either the positive or negative cores touching down to the building earth, this must be rectified by a competent person before fault will clear.

What is the 'Level 2' access code?

What is the 'Level 3' access code?

1950

When in access level 3 only options 5 to 8 are available?

The higher level options 1 to 4 are only available by turning on the program switch inside (Dil switch 6).

Will using the ‘auto-learn’ option over write my loop information?

No the existing text and programming will remain untouched as long as the ‘update new/removed’ option is selected.

Can I add additional loop/radial cards to my existing panel?

Yes, as long as there is sufficient space behind the main PCB. The new card will require addressing and initialising after fitting. See installation guide for further details:

Panel shows ‘Faulty / Disabled’ LED’s flashing slowly.

Remote outputs have been disabled, clear by pressing the ‘Remote Isolate’ button for 1 second.

Panels shows ‘PSU Fault’ LED on.

Panel is indicating a fault on the internal power supply unit (PSU), open panel door and check for addition indications on the power supply module mounted on the right hand side of the panel.

Panel shows ‘Alarm Faulty / Disabled’ LED flashing slowly.

Sounders have been disabled, clear by pressing the ‘Disable’ button this will Illuminate zone 1 LED,  repeatedly press the ‘Disable’ button until the ‘Alarm Fault’ LED is lit them press the ‘ENTER’ button to clear disablement.

How do I isolate the sounders?

Press the ‘Disable’ button this will Illuminate zone 1 LED,  repeatedly press the disable button until the ‘Alarm Fault’ LED is lit them press the ‘ENTER’ button to disable the sounders.

Panel shows 'ARW' fault

Panel processor has been restarted, clear fault by pressing ‘Reset’ button.

Panel shows ‘Det Rem’ LED and one or more zone LED’s are flashing slowly.

This indicates a smoke or heat detector has been removed or is not fitted correctly on the zone.

Panel shows ‘ARW’ fault after trying to un-isolate sounders.

After isolating or un-isolating sounders it is important to press the ‘Reset’ button to exit the disable menu. Failure to do so may cause an ‘ARW’ fault and sounders may return to the isolated state.
